The WhyPark Charity domain auction closed a few weeks ago, selling a total of 28 domain names for $3,593. The complete list of domain names and selling prices can be seen at whypark.com/auction.cfm.
I’m reporting this now because the bidder who had the highest single sale, $775 for EquityFirm.com, got to select the charity where the funds are to be donated and has selected the charity Make-A-Wish Foundation.
After reading WhyPark’s blog, it seems to me Craig Rowe has gone above and beyond. Not only did Craig donate the domain names which accounted for $2,441 in sales, but he also nearly matched the total raised in order to give the Make-A-Wish Foundation $7,200.
This directly from WhyPark’s blog:
“The average cost to make a child’s wish a reality is over $6,000. In order to be able to sponsor a full wish, we’ve doubled the $3,593 raised through the auction and are pleased to submit a total donation of $7,200″.
Thank you to Craig Rowe of WhyPark and everyone in the industry that pulled together to make a child’s wish come true.

Well done to all parties concerned. I did a write up on the Make A Wish Foundation last week. These guys couldnt have chosen a better charity.

That is so generous- I’ve seen quite a few similar stories lately. One woman who won a $1million cute dog contest gave all the money to local pet charities. I hope the kindness continues and isn’t just a new year’s fad!
Thanks for stopping by Dina.
If I won any type of money I would certainly give some to charity. It’s all about karma, you get what you give.
I absolutely agree! It’s always hard for me to choose who to support, though. There are so many worthy causes out there. I try to pick a new one every quarter.
