Moniker Brings In A Hired Gun – Chef Patrick

Posted on 08 April 2010

As of April 1st, I am Oversee.net’s newest hired gun (Domain Sales Specialist) brokering domain names for Moniker/SnapNames. You all know me as a hard core entrepreneur. I haven’t worked for anyone but myself for the last 5 years. I know you are wondering why I would accept a position with ANY company, so I’ll tell you why.

One of my main goals for 2010 was to become a domain broker. Of course I can do that on my own and was already doing so, but teaming up with Oversee.net is an enormous help towards achieving this goal. When I contact someone to sell a name, I now have the power of a top ten registrar and an industry leading company to back me up. They already have the worldwide brand status that I haven’t yet achieved. They are a full service domain company offering parking and registrar services in addition to having a market place.

Another reason I took this position is that I’ll be learning from the Moniker brokerage team and training with two of the best brokers in the industry – John Mauriello and Howard Kopp. John has been with Moniker for 5 years and has helped sell domains like Porn.com $9.5 million, Computer.com $2.1 million, Seniors.com $1.2 million, CreditCheck.com and FreeCreditCheck.com $3.5 million and most recently Guns.com $800K. Howard has been with Moniker for 3 years and has helped sell domains such as Exterminator.com $600K, ScreenSavers.com $335K and Bankruptcy.net $56K. With their combined 8 years worth of experience and tens of millions in domain name sales, I think I have come to the right place to learn.

Of course, one of the most important factors for me with this decision was my family. Being self employed means I make it to whatever family functions I want. It means I’m heavily involved with my wife and kids. Luckily, Moniker is a family oriented company.

Let me be clear though, just because I’ll be working with them now doesn’t mean everything else stops. We managed to work it out where I still get to continue on with my ventures as planned including my blogging, development and yearly cruise/conference. I know you were worried for a second there.

I want to thank everyone at Oversee.net and Moniker/SnapNames for making this opportunity possible. I’m thrilled to be coming on board and am excited for what the future holds for all involved!

First Newsletter Out – Here Are The Names

Posted on 02 March 2010

On Friday I announced my first domain name sales newsletter was going out on Monday of which I asked for domain submissions. Well, I received around 90 emails with about 1,000 domain names for consideration. I still have not had the opportunity to sort through them all.

I wanted to share with everyone the first newsletter to show the range of deals and domain names. Listed were domain names from $300 to $25,000. If any of these domain names interest you just click on the name and either post sold or your best offer.

This will be the first and only time I post the newsletter. The second newsletter will come out this Thursday so make sure to sign up. To sign up simply enter your email address on the form located to the top right of this blog.

Submit Your Domain Names For Sale

Posted on 26 February 2010

Coming this Monday I will re-launch my domain name newsletter. I say re-launch because I attempted to make a go at this in September, but found quickly I did not have the extra time on my hands to sort through emails, offers and publish a newsletter. What has changed since is I have hired a couple contractors to help sell domain names freeing up some time for this.

If your submissions warrant I am prepared to make this a daily newsletter. For now, I will commit to putting out at least a weekly newsletter listing quality domain names for sale.

There are no listing fees and no exclusive contracts to sign!!!

Only pay when your domain name is sold. That fee is $150 or 10% of the sales amount, whichever is greater.

For domain names to be considered a reasonable sales price must be included. Remember, the list is targeted to mostly domain investors. To submit your domain names to be listed in the newsletter click here.

One last note, don’t be surprised if I purchase your domain name outright or offer to broker it. Buying and brokering are going to be major part of what I do this year.

UPDATE – I have some good submissions for the newsletter so far, including a couple nice LLL.com’s under $10k. If you are not already on the email list then make sure to sign up on the right hand side of the site.
