I have a reader that is looking for a domain name. I am not brokering the name, this is a paid post. Please follow the contact information below for any questions or domain name submissions.
The following information comes directly from the client:
WANTED: Short Fashion Related .com For A Client – Budget is up to $100,000
We are looking for a short, brandable fashion related .com. It must have a maximum of 6 characters, gender neutrality a plus, but rather more feminine than masculine. It must be pronounceable and easy to remember. The domain name will be used to sell clothes, bags, shoes etc. online. Please avoid typos or anything that obviously could result in trademark problems.
Our budget is a maximum of $100,000, but this does not mean we will pay this for any domain. Please expect negotiations as we want to get a good name for a fair value.
If you have anything that you feel fits the description above please contact Bjorn Hansson brokerdeal@missdomain.com.
Elliot Silver hacked into my WordPress account to see what today’s blog post was going to be. I’m kidding, but I did plan this post on how helpful the domain community is.
As Elliot said earlier in his post Reach Out & Ask a Domain Investor, most domain investors are happy to share information with others. I know this to be true because over the last few days I have spent about 8 hours on the phone with some of them. By now everyone knows my interest has shifted slightly to the Geo domain world with my upcoming release of TampaBay.tv. With this in mind, I have reached out to some of the best known Geo domainers.
I would personally like to thank the following people.
I couldn’t even begin to express how much I have learned from these guys. What I’m learning is invaluable. The information shared with me has been a tremendous help with my current Geo development project and I’m sure will contribute to the success of my venture.
Elliot mentioned using the websites contact page or lookup whois information to reach out to those you would like to speak with. Personally, I find Facebook very useful. I am connected with the majority of the domain industry through Facebook. A lot of our industry professionals are either on Facebook or LinkedIn, not Twitter. Although, I have used Twitter to network with a lot of people, Facebook seems to be more intimate and the preferred social media tool of our industry pros.
Let me just say up front, I have never watched an episode of ABC’s Shark Tank, until last night. Last night I caught the tale end of an episode and fell in love. I loved it so much that I stayed up until 5am catching up on all the episodes via Hulu.com. The idea behind the show is five successful millionaires (sharks) will invest their own money in the ideas they like. It is a little more complicated than that, but you get the gist – you’ll just have to watch for yourself.
I know you are saying right now, “OK Patrick, so what? Why are you telling us this?” lol
The point of this is not to share what I like to watch on TV, but to point something out. Online business is real! It is so real that the Sharks have invested $280,000 of their own money into two online business ventures.
MyTherapyJournal.com – It’s an online only self therapy system. Two of the Sharks invested $80,000 into this project for a majority ownership of 51%. The biggest draw for the investors was the interest from a large insurance company to provide this for all their insured members.
GiftCardRescue.com – Online only business that allows you to sell your gift card for cash, exchange your gift card for another card, or buy discounted gift cards. The same two Sharks that invested in the other online venture, put in $200,000 for a 50% ownership in this project.
My fellow domain investors/developers, your chance is now to enter the shark tank. Rick Schwartz has announced a similar segment will be added to the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. event in New York. The 2009 nominees for Domainer of the Year will make up the shark tank panel. To enter all you have to do is send an email to Howard Neu with 50 words or less, explaining why your project should be chosen to present to the panel. Visit RicksBlog.com for the full details.
