So what’s the big secret, we all already know that John Ferber is a millionaire from creating and then selling his Advertising.com business to Time Warner in 2004 for just shy of $500 million. You can read more about that story on ElliotsBlog.com. The secret here, or at least until Secret Millionaire airs tomorrow night, is that John is one of the nicest, down to earth, generous guys I know. You know what, I’m going to add brave to that list. His show was filmed in Los Angeles, California, an area called Skid Row. From what I’ve seen and read Skid Row is in a very run-down part of downtown Los Angeles with a large impoverished population and a high crime rate. In fact, Skid Row has one of the largest populations of homeless people in the United States.
Guessing based on previous Secret Millionaire shows John will be giving at least $100,000 of his own money to a few lucky charities or individuals.
John not only leaves the show with a big heart, but street cred!
John is having a special viewing party tomorrow night in South Florida. My wife and I both will be in attendance to support fellow domainer and friend John and his charity. If you can make it come, and even if you can’t, donate! John is only asking that attendees pledge $20 on MicroGiving.com, another site John founded and another way for him to give back. I know this will be very inspiring for many of us see and can’t wait to watch the show tomorrow. Awesome job John!!

Pictured above is John Ferber and girlfriend Jenna Wehner aboard last year’s DNCruise.
I almost forgot, John has been generous enough to lend out his South Florida mansion for next week’s Domainer Meetup. Visit SFDomainers.com for more information.

I was reading TMZ.com, which I do daily. Yes I like celebrity gossip, lol. During my daily read of celebrity news I found an article which included GoDaddy.
It appears that Michael Jackson’s estate is suing the owner of MichaelJacksonCasino.com and has included GoDaddy in that lawsuit. Why is GoDaddy involved, because they allowed the registrant to purchase the name using their service.
A rep for Go Daddy told TMZ, “While we have not seen the lawsuit, if we are named, Go Daddy plans to vigorously defend itself.” The rep adds, “When customers are involved in a legal dispute, Go Daddy complies with court orders.”
To read the full article visit TMZ.com.
Just curious, do you think registrars should be held liable for allowing registrants to purchase trademark or questionable domain names?

Some of you may have already heard this, but Victor Pitts is no longer the host of Domain Masters Radio. Victor Pitts has done a phenomenal job the last few years hosting over 100 episodes. More on this tonight.
The new host is….(drum roll)…Chef Patrick
That’s right, I am the new host of the show. That’s of course if Monte Cahn, the creator of Domain Masters doesn’t step in on occasion to host.
Here are some of my plans for the show:
- New show introduction.
- Guest hosts – Morgan Linton, Andrew Allemann, Adam Strong and more.
- More LIVE episodes when possible. This will allow for more listener participation with chat and possibly call-ins.
- Video – We are going to test video on tonight’s episode.
Tonight I will have Morgan Linton of MorganLinton.com as my co-host. I really believe 2 hosts liven up the show. Morgan and I will discuss the history of Domain Masters during the first half of the show and then bring on guest Lori Anne Wardi from .CO for the second half. We all know that .CO shook the domain industry this week with over 200,000 registrations so it will be interesting to hear some stats direct.
The show is over, but you can listen to the recorded session here.

You are cordially invited to join Mike Ward, Stu Maloff, myself and about 30 other South Florida Domainers for a meetup this Thursday night.
.CO Internet is our sponsor and has generously agreed to provide dinner, non-alcoholic drinks, tax and tip. For anyone interest in .CO extension this will be a great time to ask questions and get information as they will be on-site for the meetup.
Date: Thursday, July 1st 6:30pm
Location: Maggiano’s (21090 St. Andrews Blvd. Boca Raton, FL 33433)
Also, we plan on holding a quick (zero commissions) domain auction. A few of the names being auctioned off are BocaWeightLoss.com, BocaFL.com and Boca.net. You must be there to bid!
If you plan on attending please post a comment below. This is important because we are doing a buffet style dinner and want to make sure there is enough to go around.
See you Thursday night!

My good friend and fellow domain investor/blogger Morgan Linton is appearing live today at 2pm EST on Owen Frager’s Domain Success show.
Morgan has become a weekly writer for this blog sharing his knowledge of the ccTLD market, an area I am not an expert in.
Morgan will be discussing the following:
- Domain Monetization
- Domainvestors Television
- Domaining Seminars in Los Angeles
- ccTLD Investors Magazine
- 3rd Edition of Domain Flipping Book
I highly recommended listening in on the conversation today, I’ve learned a lot about development from Morgan.
Register Here
If recorded I will try and get a copy to post here after the show.
