Are you going to the TRAFFIC conference? I am. In fact, this is my first domain industry conference. If you too are attending please post a comment below and let’s get together.
I am flying out in a few hours to attend the TRAFFIC conference in my hometown Brooklyn, New York. The conference begins Monday night with a welcome party by held DomainAdvertising.com and ends Wednesday night with Moniker.com’s domain auction. You can view the full agenda here.
Do you guys have any questions for these industry leaders?
So far I have already lined up interviews with the Castello brothers, Adam Dicker, Michael Berkens, Craig Rowe and Rob Monster. Of course things may change because of scheduling conflicts but this is what I have so far. I will try to add more if there is time.
If you want all the details from my trip make sure to follow my Twitter and Facebook streams. Also make sure to check back every day as I will be blogging live from the conference. Get all the updates and auction information as they happen.
PS – I apologize for not posting a video yesterday. I have been extremely busy trying to get as much work done as possible before leaving for TRAFFIC.
Yesterday I had the chance to sit down with Michael Ward to discuss Domainer Mardi Gras 2010. After checking out the video make sure to get your pass here. I’ve got mine!
I almost forgot. Reserve your seat now and book your hotel before October 16th and get your pass for only $495. Once the early bird pricing is over tickets will run $895 and gradually increase until the day of the event.
Mark your calenders now, this is going to be the show of 2010.
I have my event ticket and my flight has been booked. Domainer Mardis Gras here I come!!!
Below is a copy of their newsletter I received the other day. Book your hotel by tomorrow and get in for only $495 plus receive a free Flip Camcorder. Please note that this notification went out Wednesday. That means the 72 hour offer ends tomorrow!
“Taking place February 11th – 13th 2010, at The New Orleans Marriott, Domainer Mardi Gras 2010 is 3 days of networking, learning how to make more money in the domain industry, and partying like you never have before, all during Mardi Gras weekend in the heart of New Orleans, Louisiana!
Now through October 15th 2009, early bird passes are available at the low price of $795. To make the show even more affordable to attend, you can save an additional $300 off of the early bird rate by booking your room at the New Orleans Marriott at the low rate of $179 a night. For the low price of $495, you can eat all the crawfish you want, party on Bourbon St. from an exclusive balcony with your fellow domainers, and make new deals for 72 hours straight – if you can stay up that long – all within the unique environment of Mardi Gras!
Special 72 Hour Offer You Don’t Want To Pass Up!
Registrations have already begun so what are you waiting for? Attendees who register within the next 72 hours will also receive a Flip video for FREE! This camera will be invaluable during your 3 days in New Orleans so go ahead and take 5 minutes to register. You will be glad you did!”
The 72 hour offer ends Saturday September 12th! If you are not able to book by then don’t worry. You will still be able to take advantage of the early bird pricing until October 15th, but without the free Flip camcorder.
It’s not too late to attend. The current entrance price is 274 euro which is approximately $397. That’s not good enough for my readers. I emailed Daniel Dryzek, founder of MeetDomainers and asked for a special price. If you email Daniel directly to purchase your ticket and mention the “Chef Patrick” discount, he’ll let you in for 214 euro, approximately $310.
We all know there are domainers living all over the world. Europe is no exception to this. There is a great opportunity coming up to meet with European domainers and entrepreneurs. MeetDomainers.eu/en is going to be hosting another event in Warsaw, Poland the weekend of September 25 – 27th 2009, at the Warsaw Marriott Hotel.
What I love about this meeting is that MeetDomainers.eu/en has put a real focus on the business aspect of it. As a whole it’s geared not only towards domainers but towards the entrepreneurial domainer. I’ve been saying to you guys lately that I’ve shifted my view of domaining to not just looking at it as an investment, but as a business. At this particular meeting, yes you will socialize, but you will also learn and hear speakers discussing several different areas of legalities having to do with domaining, copyright issues in addition to the topics we always love to talk about like monetization, affiliate programs, web development and more.
There will be experienced special guest speakers like Rafal Agnieszczak. He is the owner of the second most popular socially geared site in Poland named Fotka.pl (photo). Their will be other experienced guests like him sharing their knowledge and tips on their successes and failures. And don’t worry, because there will be English and Polish translators there.
Like their last event, there will be a live auction at some point selling .pl, .eu and .com domain names. Last year they sold names such as adwokaci.pl (lawyers) for $28,000, aparaty.pl (cameras) for $16,800 and fotografie.pl (photographs) for $10,400. They already have a few names listed for sale at this year’s auction such as lekarze.pl (doctors), kobieta.com (woman), aukcja.pl (auction) and many more. For a full listing of names that have been submitted so far please check out their Live Auction page. Last year’s event brought in roughly $90,000 in sales.
If you love to travel you might want to consider going to this event. You can combine your love for travel and domaining all into one trip. If you buy your pass to the show by Sept. 15, 2009 you’ll pay 225 EUR which is roughly $323. Go to their registration page find out more details about pricing and what’s included in your pass like city tours and food. Be sure to check out the pictures from last year’s event to get an idea of how they operate!
