DOMAINfest Officially Not Returning To The Playboy Mansion

Posted on 11 August 2011

Earlier today Oversee.net sent out a press release announcing DOMAINfest’s Global 2012 date, January 31 to February 2. The one question I had, and I’m sure everyone had, will they be ending at the Playboy Mansion again?.

Well, I emailed Oversee and this was their official response.

“After three years of Farewell Parties at the Playboy Mansion, DomainSponsor has decided to change things up a bit and host this event at a new, exciting, world-famous venue right in the heart of Hollywood. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of high-energy, fun entertainment. And it will once again include a fundraising effort for a good cause. We hope to announce details on this highly anticipated party very soon.”

DOMAINfest has also announced the agenda which you can view at DOMAINfest.com. They placed this same statement above, in the closing party agenda.

Mark your calendars, this is the largest domain show of the year. But, will TRAFFIC now become the largest show once again? Do you only attend DOMAINfest for the Playboy Mansion?

My personal note, even without the Playboy Mansion I do plan on attending. The Playboy Mansion was a great story to tell my non-domainer friends, and they were jealous, but for me it was nothing special.

Rocky Mountain Domainer Conference

Posted on 28 January 2011

I know this post is going to seem out of the blue considering I haven’t posted since Christmas, (thank you DomainGang.com for pointing that out), but that’s ok.  I absolutely had to show some support for my friend Mike Law over at NameTalent.com.  Mike recently announced that he would be hosting a new “never before done” domain conference that is to be held February 26th in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

Skiing and hanging with other domainers?  Sounds like a perfect weekend retreat to me!

I first heard about his idea to have the Rocky Mountain Domain Conference while we were aboard DNCruise back in October.  I immediately told him to go for it.  If you remember, he won a free room and conference pass during one of the contests I held.  Mike made some great connections while networking and has been diligently planning since.

The fantastic lineup already includes Morgan Linton, Bill Muskin, Rick Waters, Sharon Hayes, Braden Pollock, Abdu Tarabichi, Adam Torkildson, trademark attorney Mimi Rupp and many others.

The conference sessions begin February 26th followed up with a day of skiing on February 27th. To see the full agenda and more information visit RMDC.co. If you want to attend then hurry because the conference is limited to 50 guests. Oh and did I mention it is ONLY $45.88 which includes the single day conference pass, lunch and a ticket to the evening cocktail party. It’s sure to be a great networking event!

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend because of an already scheduled sci-fi/comic event the same weekend :-(

Posted on 23 August 2010

I’m famous, I made it on CNN Money. Ok, so it was just for a split second, lol. Watch the video, you will see myself sitting next to client Kevin Wood whom purchased Companion.com $45,000 and Hoarders.com $1,500 during DOMAINfest’s live auction held in New York on August 18th. In total the auction sold $1,801,900 worth of domain names with the top sale being T-Shirts.com for $1,265,000.

Besides CNN DOMAINfest New York was written about by several major publications including PC World, New York Post and NY Daily News.

Also, don’t forget the extended auction is still going, visit SnapNames.com.
