After a having a great time earlier this week at Affiliate Summit and a day off in between, T.R.A.F.F.I.C. is here. One thing I do want to say is that I apologize for the photo quality. I did not travel with my better camera because of all the traveling itself. As you’ve heard I am away for 15 days which means I could only fit so much into the bags. lol.
Day one kicked off with attendee registration and a welcome breakfast at Hard Rock’s Ago restaurant.

Jodi Chamberlain doing an amazing job coordinating everything.

Rick Silver, T.R.A.F.F.I.C.’s new moderator and Nancy Bianchi from Above.com grabbing some food.

After breakfast T.R.A.F.F.I.C.’s new leader, Rick Latona, said a few words about the show. He then handed it off to Rick Silver who has taken over T.R.A.F.F.I.C. moderation duties.

12:00 – 1:45 ccTLDs – An Informative Seminar About The Global Domain Market
Below you’ll see Ron Jackson discussing which extensions are selling and what they are bringing. Lori Anne Wardi spoke about the domain name extension .co and the extension’s future. (.CO represents Columbia.) InterNetX discussed registration and nexus requirements. Dan Warner from DomainAdvertising.com talked about monetizing foreign traffic.
An interesting bit of information the InterNetX representative shared with us was that 50% of German domains have a dash in them and (.FR) French domains are preferably in French, not English.

It would be weird if it was the other way around, now, wouldn’t it…
BTW, the first 4 IDN cctlds have passed the evaluation stage according to ICANN. Russia, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Egypt are the first 4 countries.

You may want to alert someone of the TRAFFIC crew/ Internext / DAN Warner to make an announcement, just to wake a few domain investors up.
Thanks for reporting
Thanks for the shout out chef! We’ll see you in Milan…
