Last night I attended a domainer meetup sponsored by Oversee.net in Boca Raton, FL. Let me tell you, it was worth the 2 1/2 hour drive! Originally there were going to be about 20 to 25 attendees. The final count, closer to 50.
South Florida seems to be the most popular domain spot in the U.S., at least that I am aware of. In attendance, besides Oversee.net, were Michael Berkens, Howard Neu, Ray Neu, Alan Dunn, Rick Waters, Sahar Sarid, Owen Frager and many more. The only domainer in the area that did not attend was Rick Schwartz.

Brian Diener of TeenDomainer.com (16 years old) told us how and why he started in the domain industry. He threw in a funny joke, “I bet most of you have domain names older than me”, lol.

Jeff Kupietzky, CEO of Oversee.net (flew in from California) and Dan Sanchez (drove 3 hours to attend)
All in all, this was a fun event. Even though there were 50 people there, it still had the feel of a smaller event, which made it more intimate and allowed for excellent networking opportunities. I had a great time.
On a side note, there were no talks about the Halvarez scandal during the event. Incidently, I’m meeting with the CEO of Oversee.net, Jeff Kupietzky, for lunch. I will see what, if anything, I can find out.
Thank you to Mike Ward (BocaNames.com) and Stu Maloff (StupendousDomains.com) with assistance from Brian Diener (TeenDomainer.com) for organizing this event, Owen Fragor and Michael Berkens for helping spread the word and Oversee.net for the sponsorhip.

Was mucho fun, was great to finally meeting you in person !
Cheers,
Sahar
Agree, it was about time we had a chance to meet in person.
Had an awesome time, not to mention GREAT conversation. Will definitely be attending the next meetup.
Fantastic – looks like a great event and incredible turn-out!! We have a Domainer Meet-Up coming-up in LA soon too but I think Florida will beat us in attendance
Morgan there are several domain companies in California. Reach out to them! Oversee.net is there
Wow, there really are a lot of domainers in South Florida. I live in Tampa and am kicking myself for not attending. Thanks for the pics! – Joel
It really was a great event I had an amazing time and can’t wait for the next one. It was also nice to see you again Chef!
Damn that’s a lot of people on short notice…I didn’t know Frager was so popular
Why did Jeff fly in from Cal. If no talk about the halvarez thingy? Inquiring minds want to know…

Only because you came Bari
Awwww……..
Looks like a great event!
Patrick thanks for driving across the state, get some new tires and we’ll do it again early next year. HUGE kudos to Oversee.net for sponsoring one of the most enjoyable events I can remember!
My pleasure.
I’d say do it again late February or early March. There are three domain conferences between January 21st and February 13th. I’ll be attending at least two of the three.
You guys might have a bigger group in South Florida but our group of 5 in San Diego which meets up always has 15 strippers attend as well:) We’ll have pictures for you next time.
HA, I can’t comment on what we did after the meetup Jim
Thanks for covering the event Patrick and posting some pics.
It was a great evening.
My pleasure. Glad you were able to make it out. Thanks again for the Bido credits. I’ll be sure to give those out soon.
Hey Patrick,
That was a great event with some really amazing people.
Too bad we didn’t get to meetup, but we will “soon.”
Good pics…
Chris
ps. I responded to you on facebook
Sounds like it was fun. It’s too bad they don’t have a meetup in Chicago. It’s surprising how popular South Florida is among domainers
There is ChicagoMeetup.org. Better hurry the next one is Tuesday
