Server.com sells for $770,000 through Sedo.com. At $770,000 that makes this sale the sixth largest year to date.
Wikipedia definition of Server – In computing, a server is any combination of hardware or software designed to provide services to clients. When used alone, the term typically refers to a computer which may be running a server operating system, but is commonly used to refer to any software or dedicated hardware capable of providing services.
Breakdown of the stats.
Google results: 535,000,000 (server.com holds the number five spot)
Google page rank: 5
Compete.com traffic: 12,372 unique and 78,091 total visits
Alexa rank: 138,171
Currently the domain name is parked at GoDaddy.com and the whois information shows as private. I can only assume a domain with these stats will most certainly be put to use very quickly. Looking at Archive.org the most recent result from January 2008, the domain showed with a large link at the top saying “Server.com is now YourWebApps.com”. Based on this information I would assume the owner of YourWebApps.com also owned Server.com which would make Sean Brunnock of Server Corporation the prior owner. I have not confirmed this but will be placing a call into Sean’s office on Monday.
