Sedo Website Updated, Do You Like It?

Posted on 07 December 2009

Sedo.com launches new redesigned website today.

I think the redesign was done well. Very clean looking with eye pleasing colors.

I’ll admit though, I have not been able to locate recent sales which they used to highlight on the main page. In addition, the current redesign has less featured auction listings at first glance. In order to see the featured auctions you’ll need to either sit patiently while it rotates to the next set of domain names or click the more button. Once you are into the lists of domain names everything appears to be the same as before.

It looks a million times better than it did before. I vote yes.

My vote is Yes for sure! The old page looked like it had been up since symbolics.com was first registered!

It´s going to take some time to get used to all the new stuff. But I think it is well worth it!

That’s priceless, “The old page looked like it had been up since symbolics.com was first registered!”

I like the new page more overall, I thing it’s a bit cleaner and has a more “modernized” look to it.

Seems much harder to navigate, hard to read and less intuitive to me. They needed some changes but this is a set-back imho. I bet conversions suffer. Will be interesting to hear. For a company doing $1m in sales a week, seems like a big risk to do a complete overhaul like this.

Agree, business will suffer. Sometimes that is the best source of learning, trial and error. But like you said, that’s a big risk!

I personally don’t like it, the design seems heavier to load and plus the minimalistic feel of sedo is now gone (and that’s what I liked about Sedo).

Form should follow function. Instead of fucntionality like easy to read historical graphs, they chose a “happy face” to make you feel better about your smaller revenue share.

Change is good, but this was awfully done. No cross-browser testing done. I think this was major step back. SEDO should learn from big G. Keep the design simple and sweet.

If I featured domains and did a lot of auction business there I would be upset. Do not like the new look.
