Recap Of IzeaFest 2009

Posted on 06 October 2009

Where to begin? So much went on at IzeaFest.

IzeaFest 09 - Conference Room

Things started out Thursday night at Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream. If you guys remember I am scared to death of roller coasters. I even did a blog post about facing your fears. Since my fear was of roller coasters, I shot a video of me on one. Well, I was with a group of a dozen or so people and everyone of them liked roller coasters. Sorry, I’m not a purse holder, so I jumped in line and got on them all. It really wasn’t that easy to get me on them, but I did and it was fun. We almost missed the bus ride back waiting in line for the last ride, which made us late by about 45 minutes. If you are reading this and were on the bus, I’m really sorry.

Friday and Saturday, at Sea World’s convention center, were spent listening. There were about two dozen or so speakers over the two days discussing everything you can imagine about branding, seo, social media, content and more. Instead of giving a recap of each speaker you can watch for yourself. All of the speakers were recorded. Those recordings are available on uStream. I will say that my favorite speaker was Chris Brogan of ChrisBrogan.com.

IzeaFest 2009 - Conference Room

Friday night was a blast at IceBar. Saturday night was Howl At The Moon, which I did not attend. After two days of drinking at Howl-O-Scream and IceBar I was done. The way I look at it is that this was just a practice run for Domainer Mardi Gras in February. I’ll definitely need to “practice” a little more between now and then.

Everything came to an end Sunday with a day in the park at Sea World. Because I live in Orlando and already have a season pass I did not go to that either.

I’ve posted a dozen or so pictures on my Facebook page and you can also view hundreds of pictures on Flickr.

Overall IzeaFest was a blast and at an amazing value no less. My cost to attend, using an online coupon code, was $114.50. For that I got into Howl-O-Scream, IceBar with 3 drinks, Sea World pass that I can use at any time, lunch Friday and Saturday, 3 t-shirts, pair of crocs, xshot, networking opportunities, good information and a lot of fun!

I’ll be back next year for sure! :)

Gosh, that was a blast. I want to go back. I love seeing everyone’s pictures and hearing all of the stories now.

Dang, who is that sexy gal in the cowboy hat anyway?

LOL

So glad you were able to attend, and more importantly that you walked away with insight and information.

See you in 2010!

So that was you guys that held up the third bus?! LOL We were going to stay on the party bus but got tired and headed out on the second trip. Looks like we picked the right one- it was the only return trip that went smoothly!

Other than that, I had a blast at IZEAFest, too. Fantastic sessions, wonderful people, and amazing networking. I can’t wait until next year!

I was one of the many that held up the bus, lol. There was a certain someone that had to ride another roller coaster before leaving. It wasn’t me, I hate roller coasters.

Smart move getting on bus #2 :)

Wish I could have attended. Moving down to Florida in the next month, so hopefully they’ll hold another one soon in the area.
