I told my wife last night that my friend Morgan Linton of Domainvestors.tv is going to attempt something that, to my knowledge, has never been done before, which is to get a domain related TV show on air. My wife looked at me and said, “Who would watch that?”. I admit, I raised my hand and said me. Depending on the format and what’s involved I’d definetly be interested in watching a domain investing related show and I’m sure there are others out there as well.

When I say TV show I mean a REAL TV SHOW, not online streaming video. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say this but Morgan is spending thousands of dollars to do this the right way. He is having a theme song created by a local band, hiring a professional video crew and flying his first guest to California to be on the show. I know Morgan, and when he sets his goals on something he does everything he can to accomplish it.

Yesterday Morgan announced that he is looking for his first guest. In fact he is letting YOU pick that guest. I need your help, I want to be the first guest! Please visit this link and leave a comment suggesting Chef Patrick to be the first guest. Thank you in advance for your help.

SexTV.com sells for $97,500 through Sedo.

Breakdown of the stats.

Now before we assume this was sold just for the domain name I don’t think it was. The site itself advertises “The Ultimate Network for Sex!” There are two membership sites that are linked with this name, MyFreeCams.com and MyFreePaysite.com. It seems that the same person owns all three names. This could mean a couple things. Either the domain names have not been delivered to the new owner or the new owner has updated SexTV.com with the two networked sites. The whois information on SexTV.com was last changed on August 25th. It also appears that SexTV.com was a membership driven site at one point. Posted on the site is this message “Dear SexTV.com members,  as of August 18, 2009 the SexTV.com site has been sold.  As a result, we have given all paid members a credit for their most recent credit card charge.  The refund to your credit card usually takes a few days to show, therefore please wait until Tuesday August 25th to inquire about your refund with your credit card company”.

I have called and left a message for the owner on record of the three sites. I will update this post if I get a return phone call.

***Update: It seems that the sale did include the domain name, website, members and the registered trademark for SexTV.

WebFusion.com is back with more specials!

If you remember, I told you guys about a promotion they ran a while back in June where you could buy .info domains for $0.88 at the time.  That was a great deal.  Now they decided to offer something different.  Actually they are offering a couple different things and I even got the scoop on what the next promotion after this is going to be.

The first deal is any new customers can register a .net domain name at WebFusion.com right now for $6.49 until August 31, 2009.  Please know that at renewal time, after the first year, their usual domain name pricing will apply at that point.  The .net names are considered to be the alternative to the .com names, so if you are in the market for one, you might want to check this deal out.

The second deal they are offering also has to do with the .net registration deal, but takes it a step further.  In that offer, when you register a .net domain name for $6.49 you can get their “Guru Hosting” package where you’ll receive 3 months free hosting.  Normally their Guru hosting package is $14.99 a month, so that’s a savings of $44.97 for those 3 months of hosting.  This offer also expires August 31, 2009.

Now here’s a heads up for what’s coming!  There will be a similar offer starting Sept 1, 2009.  At that point Webfusion.com will be offering .biz domains for $4.88.  The second part of that special will be that they will give 4 months free hosting with a .biz domain.  So 4 months worth of free hosting will save $59.96.  Not a bad savings at all.

I know I’ve said to you guys before that .biz domain names aren’t my favorite in the world, but that doesn’t mean it’s not yours.  If you are in the market for a .biz name then that special might be worth while for you. Even if you don’t like the .biz extension it’s pretty difficult to pass up on four months of free web hosting. This deal begins when the last one ends, September 1st.

We all know there are domainers living all over the world.  Europe is no exception to this.  There is a great opportunity coming up to meet with European domainers and entrepreneurs.  MeetDomainers.eu/en is going to be hosting another event in Warsaw, Poland the weekend of September 25 – 27th 2009, at the Warsaw Marriott Hotel.

What I love about this meeting is that MeetDomainers.eu/en has put a real focus on the business aspect of it.  As a whole it’s geared not only towards domainers but towards the entrepreneurial domainer.  I’ve been saying to you guys lately that I’ve shifted my view of domaining to not just looking at it as an investment, but as a business.  At this particular meeting, yes you will socialize, but you will also learn and hear speakers discussing several different areas of legalities having to do with domaining, copyright issues in addition to the topics we always love to talk about like monetization, affiliate programs, web development and more.

There will be experienced special guest speakers like Rafal Agnieszczak.  He is the owner of the second most popular socially geared site in Poland named Fotka.pl (photo).  Their will be other experienced guests like him sharing their knowledge and tips on their successes and failures.  And don’t worry, because there will be English and Polish translators there.

Like their last event, there will be a live auction at some point selling .pl, .eu and .com domain names.  Last year they sold names such as adwokaci.pl (lawyers) for $28,000, aparaty.pl (cameras) for $16,800 and fotografie.pl (photographs) for $10,400.  They already have a few names listed for sale at this year’s auction such as lekarze.pl (doctors), kobieta.com (woman), aukcja.pl (auction) and many more.  For a full listing of names that have been submitted so far please check out their Live Auction page. Last year’s event brought in roughly $90,000 in sales.
