.XXX Sponsoring A Boat, Second One In The Last 30 Days

Posted on 04 October 2011

The news of .XXX sponsoring a powerboat broke late last week, so I am a little late to posting. Although late, I think it’s great news. Any chance of getting the word out about domain names is awesome and this is certainly a BIG way to do it!

This is now the second boat that .XXX has sponsored within 30 days. In mid-September ICM Registry sponsored our industry’s only conference on a cruise-ship, DNCruise.

Either later this week or early next I plan on posting my two cents about .XXX. In the mean time, here is the press release direct from ICM Registry released on September 30th.

.XXX RACING TO MAKE ITS MAIDEN VOYAGE AT OFF SHORE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN KEY WEST, NOV. 11-13

Palm Beach Gardens, Florida: ICM Registry, the company behind the .xxx top level domain (TLD) announced today that it is entering world class powerboat racing with world champion driver Mike Seebold to compete at this year’s Off Shore World Championships in Key West, Florida.

Seebold and the team will be unveiling the all new race boat at TRAFFIC, the domain investment conference in Ft Lauderdale on Oct. 15-16th, where guests and some surprised beach goers will get a chance to see the Miss .XXX powerboat blast along the coastline for a few test runs.

“We are extremely pleased to have a champion of Mike’s caliber join the .XXX Racing team and we look forward to lots of success with the .XXX Powerboat Team both on and off the water”, states ICM Registry Sales Director, Vaughn Liley.

“We are excited to be part of the .XXX team and were going to make them very proud in Key West as we go for the World Championship”, stated champion powerboat racer, Mike Seebold.

.XXX puts internet users in control of the content they wish to view or avoid, the .XXX indicates to the consumer that the website is likely to contain adult material, so they can now make an informed decision, whether to select or avoid. For more information about .xxx please visit www.about.xxx

DOMAINfest Officially Not Returning To The Playboy Mansion

Posted on 11 August 2011

Earlier today Oversee.net sent out a press release announcing DOMAINfest’s Global 2012 date, January 31 to February 2. The one question I had, and I’m sure everyone had, will they be ending at the Playboy Mansion again?.

Well, I emailed Oversee and this was their official response.

“After three years of Farewell Parties at the Playboy Mansion, DomainSponsor has decided to change things up a bit and host this event at a new, exciting, world-famous venue right in the heart of Hollywood. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of high-energy, fun entertainment. And it will once again include a fundraising effort for a good cause. We hope to announce details on this highly anticipated party very soon.”

DOMAINfest has also announced the agenda which you can view at DOMAINfest.com. They placed this same statement above, in the closing party agenda.

Mark your calendars, this is the largest domain show of the year. But, will TRAFFIC now become the largest show once again? Do you only attend DOMAINfest for the Playboy Mansion?

My personal note, even without the Playboy Mansion I do plan on attending. The Playboy Mansion was a great story to tell my non-domainer friends, and they were jealous, but for me it was nothing special.

Jeff Kupietzky Is Voluntarily Leaving Oversee

Posted on 29 July 2011

I just received the following email from Mason Cole, Oversee.net VP of Communications & Industry Relations.

I am confirming the departure of Jeff Kupietzky from his executive role with Oversee at the end of August.  After five years with the company and the last two and a half years as CEO and President, Jeff has elected for personal reasons to relocate his family to Israel.  The day-to-day operations and strategic vision for Oversee will be led by the company’s Co-Presidents, Debra Domeyer and Scott Morrow.  They are supported by an operating committee which includes CFO Liz Murray, and General Counsel Todd Greene.

“On behalf of the Board and all Oversee employees, I thank Jeff for his service to the company,” said Board Chairman and Oversee co-founder Lawrence Ng.  “He successfully navigated the company through some difficult challenges and positioned it as an industry leader.  We all wish him the best of luck in his new home and as he continues his successful career.”  Mr. Ng also expressed his confidence in the company’s leadership: “We feel extremely fortunate to have such a talented team of executives who are well respected throughout the industry.  We are extremely confident in their knowledge and capabilities, as well as their passion to lead us to our next chapter of growth.”

This is now at least the sixth Oversee executive to leave the company within the past 8 months. Jeff Kupietzky joins Ryan Berryman, Jack Nelson, Peter Celeste, Rob McClinton and Monte Cahn.

DNCruise Money Back Guarantee (Comic Strip)

Posted on 24 July 2011

Wow… it has been a long time since I have posted a comic strip. Actually this one was prepared for my first DNCruise, but I never posted it.

Last year we offered a money back guarantee for DNCruise guests that have never been to a domaining conference prior to this. We were the first and only conference to do this. Why? Because I believe in what I am selling and I wanted to introduce newer domainers into the community without having to risk a large investment. Besides the money back guarantee, DNCruise is the most affordable!

Not a single attendee asked for their money back!

Click on the image to enlarge.

We did it again this year. If you have never attended a domaining conference before, would like to, but need the extra motivation, then here it is. That same money back gaurantee applies this year. Visit the FAQ page on DNCruise for any questions. But hurry and book, rates increase on August 1st.
