Nipplegate Scandal And Photo Shoot Pics

Posted on 19 September 2009

Yesterday’s domain news video seems to have caused a little bit of a nipplegate scandal in the industry. At least that is what Jamie over at DotWeekly would have you believe with his blog post.

I apologize for anyone that tried to view the video earlier today. The video was taken down by YouTube and has since been hosted elsewhere and reposted to my original blog post.

Unfortunately I don’t think yesterday’s video came through as tasteful as it should have. Two mistakes were made, which I will admit to. First, the model was wearing what’s called nip tape at first, it covers the nipples. The nip tape was the wrong size and not working properly. I had four women in the room, including my wife, and asked their input. Every single one of them, including the model, voted she should go natural. The second mistake was the camera view, it was too close. When the camera was setup the model’s torso was in the picture, showing off more of an artistic body paint image and the rest of her clothes. When I replayed the video on my computer it was cut off. By the time I watched the video and realized I would have had to do it again, the model had changed and the photographer took down all of her equipment. As you can see in the pictures below it’s a lot classier with full image.

Would I do it again? Without a doubt, yes I would. What I’ve done is no different than the 2008 and 2009 Sports Illustrated body painted swimsuit edition, which are available at every grocery store in America.

I think all the chatter of a possible controversy with this video has taken away from the purpose of it, which was a WhyPark contest. Congrats to the winner which gets either a Kindle or Netbook, their choice. To find out the winner, watch the weekly news video.

Here are just a few of the pictures taken yesterday. Adults only! I am also working on some computer wallpaper/backgrounds that will be available on Monday.

Why is there for you to offer an apology?

This is net neutrality: http://is.gd/3t2O5

This is the land of the free and home of the braves. If you don’t like what you see, just turn off or stop buying. Vote with your wallet.

No, I just don’t see the big deal. GoDaddy *tries* too hard to be controversial. I’ve always saw your videos as done with class. Even this one. And since this explanation; I knew you had every intention to stay just that. As boring and technical the domain industry can get we all need some sort of entertainment!! Bring it on, Chef Patrick!

Got your back Patrick… there’s those that do.. and those that think about it or don’t have a clue. I give you major props for being one that does. :)

“Nipplegate”

I just love it!

Tia says: “I just don’t see the big deal.”

Tia, things on Chef Patrick’s video have gotten a lot bigger. :-)

Will ChefPatrick.com be rebranded as ChefDaddy.com?

Stay tuned!

Chef, you made NO mistakes as far as I am concerned. Exactly when did womens nipples become such a evil, dangerous thing that can’t be seen no matter what?

Showing the aftermath of a roadside bombing on the nightly news; people showing up at presidential appearances carrying handguns; pregnant women who can’t get health insurance because of their “preexisting condition” – all accepted behavior.

But showing a woman’s breasts in all their wonderful glory is “distasteful” and “disrespectable”? Get the fuck outta here.
I am behind you bro. Keep putting your breast foot forward.

I got your back Chef, mixxed Feelings or not, I expressed my feelings toward the Video on Twitter. I think that you are pushing the limits to what can be done in advertisement. It does make a picture while very pretty, I would have enjoyed it just as much in a skin tight Why park tank top. Th only difference between the video and the pictures are you do see more of her body in the pics then the video. You should not make a apology for anything, You force no one to watch the video. but I would do a pre-set before you take the videos next time.

The Pictures look great and please tell her that she looks great, You know electric take does the same thing as the nipple tap.

Jamie was just getting hype from the video on his blog, so I would do it too. The wife was there and said it was ok so hey I would dig it too.

I am behind you 100% you have taught me more about marketing, advertisements, building, and staying in the game then any other blogger. I follow you like a hawk ;) . Your are my inspiration for going on and pushing the limits of what you can and cant do.

But, I would love to hear what Jamie Parks has to say and comments on this.

Hi Pat,
I don´t see any scandal on the video days ago, in fact, that was great body artwork and if domain business isn´t sexy, than we are in the wrong industry ;)
Nipplegate is just great, hehe :D

“NIPPLEGATE.COM”

Available?

THat’s a great domain name for future issues where people get all “freaked out” when a woman shows her natural features… which serve a purpose beyond getting guys/girls excited because someone had the balls to show natural, adult, human sides of us all.

Those who complain and who are “shocked” and “repulsed”, are the ones who go to church five times a week, and sneak out on the weekend to hook up with a gay meth hooker. (true story)

It has been funny to watch this chatter. It was even funnier to click over to the DotWeekly original blog post and see that they have erectionpump.com listed on the page where their post was.

Good quality entertainment – keep it up guys!!!

Call me a prude but these are beyond the pale, sorry to say. I find the whole concept totally distasteful.

Whats next? A full blown porn movie w/ advertising ‘tastefully’ placed at strategic locations?

I understand the ’shock value’ bit but we’re already much maligned as a community due to the actions of some and now you add crass objectification of women to the mix?

I think it is SHOCKING…that a huge company that deals with domains advertises itself and does’nt even bother to put a .com on the end of their logo, looks like there was more than enough room to fit it on :)

..for a minute I thought you’d been flashing your nips in public “again” patrick…phew !
