If you remember, on Tuesday I posted “Off To Teach The World About Domain Name Investing“, because I was going to be speaking publicly for the first time later that evening. I spoke to an audience of right around 25 online entrepreneurs about buying and selling domain names. I was able to video record myself and have decided to share a few clips from the engagement.
I would like to personally thank Chris Krimitsos of The Wealth Building Annex for the opportunity to speak and Andrew Douglas of UtterDomain.com for coming to listen to me speak on Thursday. Andrew already knew the information but came to show his support for myself and the industry. At the end of the evening I was bombarded with individual questions. I was unable to get to them all, but Andrew helped out.
I had a lot of fun and can definitely see myself doing this often. In fact, I have already spoken again on Thursday evening and have been invited back to speak some more. I think that means I did ok.

Judging by the crowd reaction, the follow up questions and the overall reception, this kind of “Preaching to the Masses” is not only useful but absolutely necessary. Even if they don’t go out and buy and sell domains themselves, having an intelligent discussion about the value inherent in domains really opens peoples eyes and broadens the market for domainers. Oh, and it also shows that you did an excellent job presenting that information. Keep up the great work!
Are you going to post the whole video? Did they seem to “get it”?
Nope, not posting the whole thing. I just wanted to share a few clips. Down the road as I’ve perfected my speaking I’ll definitely share more.
I beleive they did get it. There is only so much that could be said in an hour.
Congratulations on getting your first presentation under your belt — you did a great job!
I was at there and extremely impressed. Having never done anything like this, the info was eye opening and I can’t wait to hear more from you Patrick.
I’ve been looking for something computer related to make $ & get my foot into the entrepreneural world. This is also something my son can help research and learn too.
I actually purchased my 1st 2 URLs (personal) but its a start and have been reading /learning whats out there.
I just want to say THANK YOU. Good Karma your way.
If you’re looking to mentor someone let me know.
Congratulations on your first presentation and you sounded like a “pro” speaker.
Great job Patrick! I would love to see the whole video, but the clips you posted really showed what a warm welcome you were given.
Patrick you did Great! Start visualizing your next presentations.
Great job conquering your fears first with roller coasters and now this! (I personally hate roller coasters myself although it might have something to do with me always eating too much food and then getting sick whenever I go lol). BTW any reason you usually make it a practice to nofollow almost all links from within your posts even to partners of yours?
Thanks Joel. Now that I’m over my fear of roller coasters I realize I just don’t like them! There are a few that are ok. I will be doing the Manta at Sea World again this Wednesday.
The “no follow” is something I was told to do by my developer a while ago. If an advertiser requests it specifically I will “do follow” the link. Why do you ask?
Yea, I agree – the only reason that I would ever go on a roller coaster again is if some day I have kids that want me to go with them : )
I was just curious bc usually people only nofollow links to sites that they do not trust or that they do not want to pass PR to.
From my understanding the more outbound links I have the less PR juice each one will pass. Because of this I reserve the do follow to my blogroll, top commentators and paid ads as a reward.
way to go, chef!
it’s just the beginning…:)
You’re a natural! Great job. Looking forward to seeing more.
You did great Patrick. You are certainly a rising star!;-)
