As of April 1st, I am Oversee.net’s newest hired gun (Domain Sales Specialist) brokering domain names for Moniker/SnapNames. You all know me as a hard core entrepreneur. I haven’t worked for anyone but myself for the last 5 years. I know you are wondering why I would accept a position with ANY company, so I’ll tell you why.
One of my main goals for 2010 was to become a domain broker. Of course I can do that on my own and was already doing so, but teaming up with Oversee.net is an enormous help towards achieving this goal. When I contact someone to sell a name, I now have the power of a top ten registrar and an industry leading company to back me up. They already have the worldwide brand status that I haven’t yet achieved. They are a full service domain company offering parking and registrar services in addition to having a market place.
Another reason I took this position is that I’ll be learning from the Moniker brokerage team and training with two of the best brokers in the industry – John Mauriello and Howard Kopp. John has been with Moniker for 5 years and has helped sell domains like Porn.com $9.5 million, Computer.com $2.1 million, Seniors.com $1.2 million, CreditCheck.com and FreeCreditCheck.com $3.5 million and most recently Guns.com $800K. Howard has been with Moniker for 3 years and has helped sell domains such as Exterminator.com $600K, ScreenSavers.com $335K and Bankruptcy.net $56K. With their combined 8 years worth of experience and tens of millions in domain name sales, I think I have come to the right place to learn.
Of course, one of the most important factors for me with this decision was my family. Being self employed means I make it to whatever family functions I want. It means I’m heavily involved with my wife and kids. Luckily, Moniker is a family oriented company.
Let me be clear though, just because I’ll be working with them now doesn’t mean everything else stops. We managed to work it out where I still get to continue on with my ventures as planned including my blogging, development and yearly cruise/conference. I know you were worried for a second there.
I want to thank everyone at Oversee.net and Moniker/SnapNames for making this opportunity possible. I’m thrilled to be coming on board and am excited for what the future holds for all involved!

Congrats Patrick! Good for you and Moniker
Congratulations Patrick and best of luck in the new position!
Looking forward to seeing some 6 digit sales with your name on them.
congratz man and best wishes on the next chapter
Congrats, Patrick!
Congrats and best wishes. Go Chef-Patrick !!
Congrats on your new opportunity and look forward to hearing you report some great sales (maybe a few of mine – ha ha).
Nice going dudely
Congrats, P-$
Just be careful about one thing… well two things:
1) If you write about any negativity related to companies that compete with Oversee (aka everyone), they could nail you for disparaging comments about a competitor… big no no, especially when you give your opinion that could be construed as fact or as a company position.
2) Bari… she’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Go get ‘em, Tiger! See you in Florida!
No worries Dom, this blog will stay very neutral. And I love Bari!
Congrats Patrick! I didn’t see this coming
I will drink a mojito to that! Congrats.
Congrats….we chillin soon Pat!!!!!!
Good choice, oversee is the sharpest company in the biz by far. I have a quite preferential relationship with them myself that nobody can match. Welcome in the “family”. Sis.
Staying busy I see… Good luck
Chef, I know you will rock it!
Congrats, best of Luck.
Congrats Patrick!
I wish you only absolute success!
Aron
Congrats bud. Great move and I know you will be extremely successful!
Thank you everyone for your support and kind words. This is one of the main reasons I love our community.
That’s great Patrick. I wish you the best of luck with Oversee. Of course, this means you have to run all your deals through them… It seems that Oversee is a the training ground for brokers. Many of them are solo now. Hhhmmm……
congrats chef……wondedrful news….all the best with this next phase
props!!!!!
Congrats! Wishing you much success.
Congratulations on your job and wish you the very best.
I am happy for you Chef and also for myself because it means I will see you in DOMAINfest Europe for the first time!!!
I recently had a very nice experience with Moniker using their escrow services, so I am glad you’re now with one of the most “reliable” registrars.
Now this is what we call, D-velopment.
Congrats, CHEF! Can’t wait to see your first sale.
That’s exciting news Patrick, congrats to you and Moniker! Cheers to your success!
This is very good news, Patrick! Congrats!
Congrats, Chef!
What’s your platform (website) where you’ll be brokering the Oversee domains, and do you have a refcomm agreement you can share with us from your brokered successes?
Congratulations to you Chef. I have been following you and
I am happy to see someone recognized you prowess.
Congrats man…what’s company policy on body paint?
Congrats.
Just wondering… You mention being backed by the big company. From the buyer’s point of view I would think the domain name would be the bid deal and who is selling it and what company is behind it would not be important. (if they have a good rep)
Am I naive here? All you need is a name, transfer scheme like an escrow acct and a few standard contracts.
This is not to dis the company or your talent. Of course your talent is the main thing or there is no sale. And there is plenty to learn at Moniker.
Good luck to you. I am sure it will help all of us to have talent like you on the front lines.
Congrats.
I am sure it will help all of us to have talent like you on the front lines.

Congrats! I am sure you specified your work ethics in the employment contract:
I wake up at noon!
I show up for work by 2pm sharp!
I go to lunch from 2:30pm to 3:30pm
I leave work at by 4:00pm to keep a happy family/work balance.
Welcome to Ft Lauderdale!
Dan
Congrats Patrick, This has already had a personal impact on me… Your not online nearly as much as you used to be.. OR maybe this is all just a cog in the wheel of your master plan to have an excuse to not talk to me as much as usual hahahaha.. :p
Good luck man, i know your going to find great success with this.
Congrats Chef, Good luck in your new job
Well done Patrick, you certainly deserve it. You have been a shining light in the domain industry these last couple of years. Marketing genius
Congrats Patrick!
So will you be brokering outside the auction route? The auctions seem to attract the same crowd of resellers, so it would be nice to have somebody beating the bushes for end user sales for both higher sale prices and commission rates. Let’s face it, there is not a lot of skill in picking up the phone and calling Kevin H, compared to contacting users.
Congratulations to BOTH Chef Patrick and MONIKER…
Is this what all that recent traveling was about ??
I am sincerely excited for you…
Moniker is one of my alltime favorite companies…
I bet the story of YOUR LIFE would make a good book / movie…
To this point in your life – and forward… always forward..
(smile)
I bet the Mrs is super exicted about this
Moniker Arrangement… (smile)

years in ,and you seem to know whats under all rocks.
I think They got a good deal”"” Best Of Health You Dont Need The Luck ”Benny The Bull”
Congrats Chef!!
Well done Chef. Fantastic opportunity and you have clearly recognised its potential.
All the best mate
Good stuff. Would be curious to see more geos and non .coms being sold to corporate and high-end end users..
Great move Patrick! LMK when you’re ready to broker a name for me – the one on this post!
Congrats chef!
I remember once you were in Namepros. Then in this blog. In my opinion your growing so fast. Congrats again!
& I hope you will be able to share experience about domain brokering through this blog. Thanks
Congrats Patrick – you deserve it and I know you’ll do an amazing job. Looking forward to seeing your name in the Domain Broker Hall of Fame!!
Congratulations to your new gig. Now that you’re corporate, can you still use the moniker ‘Chef’ in your business card?
I believe I can use Chef Patrick on the business cards, just not sure I want to. The domain community knows the name, but outside doesn’t. We go to a lot of shows outside of the industry. This will be something to think about though.
On to the next one. Keep it moving Chef.
Since the announcement of Chef Patrick taking a job with undersee (sp),
I’ve seen a lot of negative comments on blogs etc. Before that announcement I only ever read good things about the Chef. That just shows you how human nature works, people hate to see other people moving forward if it does not benefit them. F**k them all Patrick, I wish you the best of success. You grabbed this industry by the balls only 2 years ago, and gave it a good shake, and the only way to get attention is to grab balls and shake
Well done Paddy.
Thank you Jim…you’re too kind.
I think out of the couple hundred comments I’ve seen only a handful were negative. I don’t necessary like it but have to respect the fact that people have their own opinions. At the end of the day I am in business for my family and answer to them.
Appreciate your support and everyone else for that matter.
You earned it. It will be good for you and good for the industry.
And family comes first so you don’t need to apologize for that.
Best to you,
Steve
The negative comments are just folks that wish they had your drive. I am proud of you grasshopper, you my now leave the sholin temple.
Patrick, your serious about domaining and you’ve already made a indelible mark with domainers and your followers. Great move for you and lucky for Oversee to get you on board.
Big Congrats!
