.ME’s Premium Auction At Sedo Closed With $167,708 In Sales

Posted on 09 November 2011

Although the .ME registry completed their premium .me domain name auction last week, I haven’t seen any posted sales, so I figured I would share some information about it.

In short, of the 178 domain names listed for sale about 41% (73) met reserve. Total sales ended with $167,708, which is an average of $2,297 per name.

Of those that met reserve the top five sales were:

vip.me - $11,600
lifeinsurance.me - $10,600
flowers.me - $9,000
realestate.me – $8050
golf.me - $7,000

Sorry, I only have the top five sales available. If you know some of the other sales in auction please share them in comments below.

Not to discount $167k in sales, but I’m a little disappointed. I was shocked not to see cam.me or deals.me in the top five sales. .COM is king, yes yes we know, but I like the .ME extension, they’re very catchy and affordable when compared to .COM sales. This auction really should have done better!

Obviously not all of those sold, but that does look like the final bid list.

Interesting that Cam.me only sold for $3,800 and Deals.me for $3,900.

      Thanks ST!

    We purchased Chicago.me

  2. Phl says:

We are planing on building it out and are working with a few traditional media partners like billboard and radio to help promote our brand. We intend to even have a social twist with live chat rooms like the days of aol included. We are putting together th scope right now and gathering information from visitors of other Chicago city guide/ directory

    • Chef Patrick says:

Nice! Best of luck to you on the project and thanks for sharing. Once you get things off the ground shoot me a message and we can do a story about it.

I own a city.me too, just no time to develop it.

      Hey David,

Been a while, how you doing?

What did David.me go for? I’ve got Patrick.me, everyone should own their first name :-)

  4. I picked it up for $4200 or somewhere around there I think.

  5. DT says:

the buyers at the .me domain auction got themselves a great bargain.

  6. Nadia says:

Given the news today, I’d say everyone’s .ME holdings just got a little sweeter. Congrats to anyone who scored names in the auction! I stumbled across a nice little 4L gem at Sedo tonight, and a few others that were low risk. Chicago’s a great name, and I’m starting to love my “Jamaica Me” even more now. :)

  7. I was expecting more impressive sales at this auction!
Maybe next time once the names change hands again!
