Nice interview, would like to read a longer version sometime :)
Rick is a great seller and very nice to communicate, I sold one name through his website, and even if it was a very low price he handled it very accurately.

I would put a large bet that a lot of the hand regs Rick's been doing are .com.mx or the like.

Great interview! Agree 100% with what he was saying about cc-TLD's as the growth potential.

Interesting he believes his domaining career really started in 2004... that's pretty late compared to many of the big domainers.

Simply put - Rick Latona is the American Dream.

I also want to chime in on the short domains. If it's not a natural type-in or a meaningful acronym, it's no good.

"I don’t want to find myself registering random LLLLs because I read a 20 page thread that everyone else is doing it."

"LLLLs make even less sense. Again, this question is a product of board manipulation."

Agree 100%.

The LLLL.com hype was mostly created by certain mods and cheerleaders from Namepros.

I like what he said about minisites. I am starting to put minisites up on alot of my domains, and its paying off.

You can make sooo much more off of a minisite than off of parking, in my opinion.

I also like what he said about short domains. I don't think short names have much value, unless it is a meaningful acronym.

I love what he said about the LLLL.com domains. People have been so stupid about these for the last few years. Just because it has 4 letters does not mean that it is valuable! It could be valuable but not guaranteed.

Nice gems in there. I liked this one "Don’t buy a name you aren’t willing to own if you aren’t able to sell it."

While the bit about the blog and the forums could be wrong. Forums and blogs are great places to get an idea about what your peers are thinking, serve as sounding boards and help newbies.

Thanks Chef Patrick for bringing out this interview.
