I was out and about over the weekend and drove by this billboard.
I love it when online companies advertise offline. This billboard is short and sweet. The message; start a website, visit HostGator.com and get a free month. Perfect!
Why do I love this so much?
Two reasons:
- There is an entire audience that does not see you online.
- It solidifies your brand. Even if they have seen your brand online there is just a huge trust factor when it comes to LARGE print media like this. The average person has an understanding that a billboard is expensive, but most of them have no idea how much online ads cost.

I see them advertise a lot where I live in Ft Lauderdale
I have been seeing HostGator.com advertisements in Philadelphia.
Also I believe they are using a different coupon code for tracking. I think Philly is “liberty”. They must be spending some serious coin on this campaign.
They are also have sponsored fighters Brandon Vera in UFC 102 and Rich Franklin in UFC 103 – the last two UFC pay-per-views.
