Boss of the DomainGang family Lucius “Guns” Fabrice is calling it quits after receiving hundreds of threatening emails. His recent run in with the Boss of the DNForum family, Adam Dicker, has proved to be too much for him. Lucius has been quoted as saying “I was just trying to have fun and didn’t mean for anyone to get hurt.”
DomainGang is notoriously known for:
- Can Chef Patrick Really Cook?
- DNJournal closes down – Ron Jackson retires a millionaire
- 4 Better YouTube Screenshots for Chef Patrick’s Video
- Breaking News: Hank Alvarez hired at Bido.com
- Francois introduces new Selling Platform for REALLY low quality domains
HA HA HA
All of that above is just a joke. This is the same satire that DomainGang.com dishes out every day. What is really funny to me is the fact that some people actually take the website seriously. They read the headline without reading the article and have no idea it is all made up.
DomainGang.com even has a disclaimer for all of its readers.
“The intent of DomainGang.com is to provide entertainment via the public release of content related to the domaining industry or other social aspects of life. We are not to be held responsible for any damage caused by your use of the satiric content.“.
I like DomainGang.com. It’s fun to see what made up stuff Theo is writing about. Plus, I have to. I’ve found my name in there several times, lol.
For those of you that don’t know, the man behind DomainGang.com is Theo Develegas of Acroplex.com (Web Design) and Acro.net (Blog).
So go check out DomainGang.com, take nothing seriously and walk away with a good laugh.

I blocked it from my domaining feed.
It’s just nonsense.
I’ll agree, it’s not for everyone DC. I’m glad that Domaining.com has the feature to edit feeds, I’ve blocked a few myself.
DomainGang was a dull and unfunny site from day 1. Nobody will miss it.
Everyone pile on, hehe.
I wish I had a sense of humor but I don’t. Nothing pains my ass more than to laugh: it hurts my throat and I might smile using muscles I haven’t used in years. Our industry deserves to be dry and should be taken very, very seriously.
@Patrick – Although I appreciate the humorous approach of your article, I’d like to point out that from day #1 there has been a disclaimer with regards to what with do. Unfortunately, very few people bother to read it. Cursory reading of news or entire blogs is a sign of our times being spent online and in fragmented conversations via twitter etc. People who don’t care to understand what they read online should turn off their Internet and get hold of books instead; then return with a different attitude. A good recommendation for people with no to little humor is MAD Magazine.
Acro,
If you’re going to dish it out, you need to be able to take it. You’re being hard on the non humor people. It’s bad enough they live with their parents but now they’ve been given an Acro beat down. They’re going to have a tough time sleeping tonight because of it and most likely going to miss their water aerobics in the morning.
I also have a hard time with sunshine, puppies and unicorns. Anything that reminds me there is an outside and life other than my computer screen. I definitely do not want to deal with Domain Gang’s type of humor. I am so offended by Domain Gang that I cannot concentrate on the Snapnames scandal, world hunger or increasing the value of my portfolio. This madness has to stop!
I’m a big fan of Domain Gang – it’s what we all needed!
It’s about time we had some comic relief in the Domaining industry and Domain Gang has done an excellent job!
Life is short – try to enjoy it! Thanks Domain Gang and Patrick – keep it up!!
Keep up the good work acro and DomainGang
To those that don’t like DomainGang I recommend a good laxative. It will relax those anal muscles that they’re stiff.
I unsubscribe their feed too.
Great job by the DomainGang team, people need a laugh, people do not need to take themselves to seriously. Satire is needed at times, there is education in the humor if you pay attention.
Keep up the good work.
We always had fun pulling our annual April Fools gag. DomainGang takes it to the extreme and does it every day. Keep it up. There’s plenty of things to poke fun at.
I like the domain gangs writing style, wish they had a blog with serious reviews.
I think the main reason why so many people don’t like domaingang is because… well… it’s not funny.
The shorts posts are really really not funny.
Guys gets 22k click at sedo OMG!
@Jeff – let’s see what you can do better, buddy. And claiming that “so many people don’t like” us is pure BS. We have a 59,000 Alexa ranking and 500+ daily uniques. So jeffy, it’s best to say that “I, Jeff Anon don’t like DG because I have no sense of humor”.
Live and let live. Laugh and let laugh. Disclaimer-at-top to get people ready to laugh, or Disclaimer-at-bottom in tiny print to be possibly read after article is “skimmed” by busy domainers who don’t read everything, especially fine print on the bottom of a website’s homepage.
Comments here in support of DG are from several people, including the Chef, who’ve been featured in DG, so of course they’re going to support DG, unless the DG “satirical story” didn’t get them bombarded with worried emails and phone calls such as the one on DNforum. Then mea culpa’s are the laugh around the industry. I’ve been there.
What’s really funny about this post by Chef and the comments are – the amount of time spent by Tia and Theo trying to defend their work on DG to people who “don’t get it and don’t like it”, but DG is still getting the last laugh and revealing why they’re doing it:
ACRO: “We have a 59,000 Alexa ranking and 500+ daily uniques.”
Bingo, and that’s all that counts. If it works, why change? I think it’s a innovative and thought-provoking, if not provocative, website, and more power to Theo and Tia.
Peaceout
BTW,
KUDOS TO DOMAINGANG.COM FOR PLACING A CLEAR DISCLAIMER AT THE TOP OF THEIR WEBSITE.
This is now a class website in my book.
Thanks Theo and Tia.
cheers!
Stephen and all – the disclaimer has ALWAYS been there. The About Us page with the same content has ALWAYS been there. But people seemed unable to read what was RIGHT THERE. Frankly, what is wrong in today’s Internet society is the need to babysit each and everyone regarding what they do with their own senses.
I’d like to see the figures about being “bombarded”, Stephen. You mean the 12 emails Adam received?
To wrap it up: DomainGang is parody of today’s domain world. It’s not “fake stories” as you have said in the past. It’s satire. Satire, since the ancient times of Greek comedy delivers the truth by twisting the reality, so that those who can’t stare reality in the eyes can get it. Learn to read between the lines and definitely CLICK on the headlines to READ the article. You might be surprised to see that apart from pure humor you will be able to obtain a number of other elements from it.
Our sponsor, DomainTools, “got it”. Since you asked, Stephen, yes, it’s true. And that requires reading between the lines.
Theo,
In general, Parody and Satire = “fake stories” but that’s moot, isn’t it? The dictionary defines “satire” as:
- “the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.”
Dictionary definition of “Parody”: an imitation or a version of something that falls far short of the real thing; a travesty.
I’m not arguing with you here. You have a winner and I wish you great success. If “domaintools” wants to take advantage of your traffic, that’s great for you and TC, and I sincerely congratulate you on that.
Your current disclaimer in the upper right hand of your homepage is a new addition, as it wasn’t there when I first came to your site. The only disclaimer was boxed bottom dwelling white-on-black tiny text report I never read.
Again, you have a winner here. Have fun with it. If you don’t take this wrong, some advice again: I think you need to indicate which stories are going to be “satire/parody” and which are “true” in order to gain credibility overall.
Truly, I can’t tell, because of the ridiculousness of the industry right now as a whole, what is real and what isn’t when I read articles on DG. Maybe a little “winky face” icon at the end of any story that is satire would help. Unless your articles are absolutely outrageous, some of your “satire” is entirely plausible from what I know about this industry.
So, again… much success to you and Domaingang.com. Your site is going to be around for a long time, and I hope it makes you hit it big financially.
