AdSense Now Supported In .TEL Domain Names

Posted on 02 April 2010

In February, Andrew Allemann of DomainNameWire.com reported the ability to use Google AdSense on .TEL domain names by the end of March. I just received my first email for just that. OnlineNIC has announced they are now supporting the use of Google AdSense with .TEL domains. Based on the email received it appears at this time limited to only 2 blocks of 250×250 ads. Here is an example that Andrew posted on how the new .TEL layout may look with integrated ads.

If you are a .TEL domain name owner please refer to your registrar for more information.

Do they have approval from Google for this?

Don’t think a .TEL would actually meet Google’s standards for a ‘good user experience’

At least as per my understanding.

    Oh, happy days!

@Samit – hmm.. I would think they would have no problem. It is my understanding that google even allows parked domains to have adsense on them now.

I am curious to know. What dns record is the publishing code stored in? (guessing free text) and will that now come across when I am parsing through the dns records of the dotTel or is this just on that proxy page that dotTel sets up.

Either way great for those of us in for the long haul.

  3. Andy says:

@chader144 Yep, AdSense records are stored in TXT records. There’s also a new element that you can use with the storeRecord method. See the docs for more.

  4. Mark Kolb says:

Detailed instructions on how to insert AdSense on .tel is found at ads4.tel.
