Sorry for the lack of blog posts over the last 15 days. I have been away for 15 days, with 3 conferences within that time frame. You can’t imagine how hectic life can get in that short span of time. Before I left I had no idea what it would be like trying to cram 3 conferences in back to back. Lesson learned!
Here was my schedule the last two weeks:
January 15, flew to Los Angeles, California
January 16, drive to Las Vegas, Nevada
January 17-19, Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada
January 21-23, T.R.A.F.F.I.C. in Las Vegas, Nevada
January 26-28, DOMAINfest in Santa Monica, California
January 30, flew back home to Orlando, Florida
All I can say is that I will never do three shows in such a short period of time again. NEVER!! Don’t take that the wrong way, because the three shows were amazing. It’s just that I have never been away from my wife and kids for more than 4 days at THE most. I’ve been fortunate enough to be self-employed the majority of my children’s lives and have never missed anything. Well, that almost happened while I was gone. My six year old daughter almost lost her first tooth. It was so loose and really would have come out if she didn’t avoid her front tooth when chewing her food. She was so desperate for it not to fall out while I was gone. Everyday we talked on the phone she told me she was making her tooth wait for me to get back. The day I came back, we pulled the tooth. It was hanging on by a string. While it may seem silly to some to make a big deal about a first tooth, it’s not silly to me. Being there for these special moments in my family’s life is what drives me to make a living on my own terms by being an entrepreneur.
Once I get caught up on all my emails, I’ll share more about each show. As I said they were all great!

Thanks Tia
I totally agree. My oldest daughter is 5 and has (so far) lost two teeth. Each has been special and memorable. It’s life’s little pleasures like these that we will remember when we are sitting in our rocking chairs thinking back on our lives.

Hi Patrick,
I hear you loud and clear mate!
When I went to Traffic ccTLD for 1 week in Amsterdam last year that was the longest I had been away from my wife and daughter ever! It sucked!! Traffic ccTLD was great though.
My daughter is 11 now and I have worked from home for the same length of time. There is a saying that I love “I work to live, not live to work”
I still have all of my daughters baby teeth in an envelope and I was there for every one of them coming out, me and the tooth fairy of course!!
I look forward to your reviews.
Cheers

“I work to live, not live to work” Great saying Ed!!!
I look forward to your thoughts on the conferences.
That’s one tough schedule. DOMAINfest was enough to be exhausted. Can’t imagine all of the other conferences as well.
There will be a lot of conferences this year, shows me that domaining is getting more and more serious. There is however one area that needs some improvements, domain selections. Far too many quality domains but with very high reserves are accepted. Better to limit it to 50 domains than accept 100 domains out of which over 50% will not sell due to high reserves.
